Services
Respiratory
Dr Prasad offers a consulting service for all Respiratory disorders and symptoms.
We accept referrals for all respiratory conditions including:
- Shortness of breath
- Asthma
- COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
- Lung cancer and suspected lung cancer.
Patients with suspected lung cancer will be given a priority appointment to ensure the fastest possible diagnosis.
Sleep
Dr Prasad consults patients with all sleep disorders including:
- Sleep apnoea, including sleep assessments for high risk occupations eg. commercial drivers
- Narcolepsy
- Hypersomnia
- Insomnia
- Snoring
- Complex sleep disorders
We now offer home sleep study from our clinic. This is done under the supervision of Dr Prasad, and a comprehensive and timely report will be sent to the referring doctor. For eligible patients (those who meet the Medicare criteria for a home sleep study), the sleep study will be bulk-billed. Many patients have a high likelihood of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea but may not fulfil the GP referral criteria for a bulk-billed sleep study. In this setting, we offer the option of either a privately paid for sleep study, or a clinical consultation with Dr Prasad (after which a bulk billed sleep study can be done if Dr Prasad determines that there is a high likelihood of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea). Dr Prasad also performs level 1 in-lab sleep studies (both bulk -billed and private) including Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT) and Maintenence of Wakefulness Test (MWT).
Hot Clinic for urgent patients
The Hot Clinic offers priority appointments to patients who need an urgent assessment or consultation.
We’re happy to arrange urgent appointments over the phone on 07 3180 4462.
Tele Health
Telehealth appointments allow a video or phone consultation.
We want to make sure you are aware that:
- A video consultation will not be exactly the same, and may not be as complete, as a face-to-face service. An important limitation is the inability to perform a physical examination.
- There could be some technical problems that affect the quality of a video consultation.
Please confirm you understand the limitations of a health service provided online and are happy to proceed.
- If the video consultation does not achieve everything that is needed, you will be given a choice about what to do next. This could include a follow up face-to-face consultation, or a second video consultation.
- You can change your mind and stop using video consultations at any time, including in the middle of a video consultation.
- This will not make any difference to your right to ask for and receive health care.
